RICK

He has worked with wood all his life, as did his father and generations before him. Rick took it to the next level and starting getting more creative with wood and designing unique, custom pieces, keeping the rustic nature of the wood intact. As a master wood designer, Rick is inspired by the natural forms of the tree – “I like to make something out of nothing, creating from a blank canvas, so to speak.”

Rick is truly an expert on trees and wood, you can point to any type of tree and he’ll tell you what kind of tree it is and any unique features of that species.

NIA

Nia is continuously inspired by the green movement, the generous soul of nature, and of course, Rick and his work. Nia enjoys attending events, media marketing and woodworking. “Creating this small business together with my family is so much fun and sharing our wood designs, sharing the earth so to speak, is truly rewarding.”

Nia has an amazing interior design talent and can take any space and make it feel magical. You’ll feel her talent the moment you step foot in the Xilo Barn.

JOE

Joe grew up learning from his Dad and went on to become a mechanical engineer. With his degree and knowledge, he is able to help Rick with new, more efficient designs for pieces of furniture and even the Xilo Barn. Joe is inspired to physically and functionally improve designs while adding his own touch, and in his free time loves fixing cars and driving his 2003 Cobra SVT.

MELISSA

“Light tomorrow with today.” She loves to learn and her bright spirit brings daily innovation and growth to TR Timbers. Melissa studied Accounting and Statistics in college and now works in market research and advertising.  She is a natural at interacting and building beautiful stories with people. If you ever want to explore the Hudson Valley, she’s your go to person for fun activities, hikes, and historic nature trails.
